Dolor Gatan Saquing, 84, of Hilo, died Oct. 2 at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 7, 1928, in Santa Maria, Isabella, Philippine Islands, he was formerly employed as an accountant/controller at Theo H. Davies Ltd. in Hilo, retired from Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant and was a member of the University Heights Kumiai.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by wife, Akiko Saquing of Hilo; sons, Romeo Saquing of Hilo, Dolor (Karen) Saquing Jr. of Everett, Wash., Rogelio (Barbara) Saquing of Camarillo, Calif.; half-brother, Roberto Saquing of the Philippine Islands; five grandchildren.
